IWVA was formed in 1975, shortly after the Indiana Small Winery Act was passed by the Indiana General Assembly. At that time, there were enough interested “friends of the grape” to establish the Indiana Winegrowers Guild, which later became the Indiana Winery & Vineyard Association in 2009. Since then, IWVA has grown into a strong advocacy organization, representing Indiana winemakers and grape growers before both the Indiana General Assembly and the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission. IWVA also holds membership meetings twice a year to communicate with permit holders about ongoing issues and to offer educational trainings focused on business activity and areas of common concern. |
